Not for profit, not for charity, but for service
Chartered in 1956
A federal credit union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution and is member-owned and controlled. As a federal credit union, members' savings are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). Membership in federal credit unions such as ours is not open to the general public, but is limited to persons sharing a common bond, such as occupation or employer group. Railroad Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1956 to serve employees of the Southern Railway System in Alabama. Our charter has been amended over the years to add other smaller employee groups.
The Railroad Federal Credit Union’s primary mission is to provide services that meet our members’ financial needs. Our goal is to offer personalized service, high deposit rates and competitive loan rates while maintaining a safe and strong credit union.
Please join us Friday, March 2, 2012 for our annual meeting. We meet at 7PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church gymnasium located at 980 Huffman Road in Birmingham. This is an opportunity to fellowship with your credit union family, enjoy refreshments and have a very good chance of going home with a door prize or cash. We look forward to seeing you there!
